Leaking dash

Anyone else have water that comes in from their dash when it rains? I don't think I have any holes anywhere, but it's pouring outside now so I don't feel like looking at this moment. It's only on the left side of the dash and keeps dripping on my foot lol!

If they didn't seal it correctly then yes.

If it's leaking around the windshield, that shouldn't be too hard to find.

MIne does it too, and I think it is coming from the center of the gasket around the windsheild at the bottom. Mine has a gap there. I haven't done anything about it yet though

Is that "gap" inside that vent on the hood? I'm still a bit confused how to fix this problem

no, in the seal around the winsheild........after reading other posts, I think you may need to look into cleaning out under the heater air intake

Ok. Is there one on both sides (driver and passenger) and do I get to it from the inside of the jeep?

You have a vent in front of your hood by your windshield. It has a drain in it
that usually gets clogged with dirt and cant drain when it rains. Lift your hood
and on your firewall you will see a round tube vent that may still have the stock
rubber sleeve on it, The sleeve tapers down to a small split that allows water to
drain but not get back in. The rubber sleeve usually gets full of dirt and leaves
and backs up your vent which allows the water to come in through the inside of your dash. Check this out and clean it out. I threw my rubber sleeve away so it couldn't get clogged in the future.

Let us know if this is it.

Awesome! Thanks for the descriptive fix! I'll check it out as soon as it stops raining and let you know what I find?

That type of leak is from the window seal. It's a common problem.

You have a plastic grill on top of your hood right infront of the windshield. Take it off its just screwded on. Inside there is a hole, bend a coathanger strait and stick it down the hole. Put a bit of water in it to make sure its draining out and your problem should be fixed

I second that…and when I folded my window down once I saw run marks coming from the window seal but I didn't think much about it since the seal is new, for now I took the carpet out, didn't know what it was, After reading this I think I'll have a new window seal done or have someone take a look at it.

Hey guys, now that the wearer is nicer here I want to finally get to the bottom of this issue. I now know that the problem is NOT the rubber hose on the firewall and NOT the windshield seal. The water leak is getting so bad that at times i can hear water sloshing behind my dash and there's sometimes a liter of water on my driver and passenger floor mats. When I take off the vent cover on the hood, I see 2 drains. One that goes to the rubber hose on the firewall (which again is not the issue) and another on the passenger side that I have no idea where it goes. I'm thinking this might be causing the problem. I've searched forever for a fix to this issue (which seems common) but can't find one. Thoughts?

Appreciate the help!

Don't know about the two drains in the cowl but you might consider replacing the cowl/windshield gasket, also the drain you did find might have a hole in it behind the dash....lastly some have had the body sealant leak near the windshield/hood/fender area.

Thanks. Where is the windshield/cowl gasket? Under the hood?
