lift height/tire size

hello again, i just got a 2.5L 4cyl. 89 wrangler and want to raise it. i want to do the 4" lift with 33" tires but have read in places that the trucks lose some power with that and need bigger gears and i do not have the money for that now. is this true or do they drive well with this size tire? any advice is great. thank you.

yes it is true, essentially you will lose 5th gear, you will have to use 4th alot more to keep the RPM's up.
I have the same set up except a 4.0, others have done it and been happy, you just have to re-learn how to drive your jeep to maximize it's potential.

how is the ride with the 33" volforce? would you recommend doing it or going with a 2.5 lift n 31" tires?

Im planing on doing some off-roading but since i live on LI i am limited to what i am able to do here.

I got 31's on my 2.5L and have no problems keeping it at 110km/h on the highway
