Looking for some help

I have a 90 jeep with emissions stuff stripped, MC2100, Nutter and as of yesterday TFI upgrade. It seem a little better but I don't think I have it dialed in right yet. If someone can give me a hand working out the bugs I would be greatful. I live in Western NC and yes I have used the search and google to try to find solutions.

Hey Kackalacky,

Lots of folks here who will be glad to help....but you might want to be a bit more specific on your issues & location.

Assuming you have a manual & hand tools, a basic rule of troubleshooting is to only change one thing at a time. Then test & repeat.

I'm guessing that you have drivability problems, rather than 'wont start, etc"?

If so, make sure your spark timing is correct FIRST (base timing, total timing and timing advance)...THEN you can start tuning the carb. You'll need a timing light for that first step.

I have that set up, as do lots of other guys, ...and it's pretty simple to tune. Let us know the specifics & we'll get your rig running well.

I'm in Raleigh, btw.

Sorry for the slow response, I had to step away from it for a few days. It ran good the first day. Now something has changed, engine has a loud ticking, no power under load and very stumblly. I have a cheep narrow band A/F gauge spliced into stock sensor. It runs rich but seems to have leaned out a little since the TR. So today I backed up and tried starting with the basics did a compression test (140,143,135,110,145,133) Also spark plugs were black and found vac leak and missing manafold bolt next to fire wall.

Since compression is down on 1-Cylinder, Pop your valve cover and check for a broken valve spring.
