Motor Mount plate

My '91 YJ has a "riser" plate under the passenger side motor mount and not the driver side. Why? Is it neccessary? And where can I get a new one if it is?

Are you talking about the piece that bolts to the bottom of motor mount? If so are the two end pieces ok but the middle rusted out? If this is the case my 94 had the same thing happen ( dealer said that piece NOT ANY LONGER IN THE SYSTEM) so what I did was to cut piece of 1/8" flat stock the length that I needed and with both ends still bolted to the old mount I notched so I could get to the one bolt and welded it in place. Then unbolted it from the mount and put on my new mount and placed back on engine and went underneath and marked the hole location, removed and drilled the hole. I put the mount back in and bolted it back on the frame with a grade 8 stainless bolt, flat washer and locking nut total cost less than 10.00 and about 2hrs time. Hope this helps.

Mine broke twice, the last time I welded it up pretty good, if it breaks again I will make one as redrider did.....
