Motorcraft carb

The PO of my YJ had just bought a motorcraft carb, adapter plate, gaskets and breather when I bought the Jeep so he just gave them to me since he didn't need it anymore. I have a few questions about it though.

1. How long will it take to change and set up?

2. Is there anything I need to watch for? (linkage or vaccume problems?)

3. Will the fuel mileage improve over the stocker or worsen?

about 2 hours is what it took me.
I never did figure out what to do with the vacum lines so i plugged all but dist and pcv.
not sure on mileage, i think its better if maybe a little.

Replaced carb, distributor, took out egr valve, got rid of all vaccum lines. Only lines left are to carb and distributor. Did the nutter bypass. Took me about 4 to 5 hours and my milage went from 7 to 12. Performance greatly increased. I have the 4.2. Great mod! Bought mine on line and got great directions from the guy I bought from.

I have a problem. This is what my intake looks like. eBay link

My lintake kind of looks like an exhausht flange. One hole in the center with a single stud on either side. My Adapter plate is square-ish with an oval shaped hole in the center. Just like the bottom of the carb.

How do I get my adapter plate to work on that?

Got mine on ebay from Mike Ehrmann. He is out of Colorado Springs, CO. He will sell you everything you need and offers great support installing. Sends great install directions with purchase.

Yeah the PO ordered the carb from the eBay guy but he didn't get the right adapter plate. He bought the one that goes on the 2bbl intake and the Jeep has the 1bbl. The Motorcraft swap is on hold until my 1bbl to 2bbl adapter gets here.

Not sure but I know it's not the original. I'm thinking it's an old CJ engine. By the engine casting I think it's a 81-85. At one time my 90 had FI cause all the injector plugs and electric fuel pump are still there.
