I just installed my motorcraft carb and whereas it ran good for a few weeks I'm having trouble with idle now. wants to bog down when load is applied, and sometimes I am forced to shift to neutral (automatic) when coming to a stop. any help? guy at work thinks I should start with the vacuum advance on the distributor and see if that vac line needs replaced. any other ideas?

I tried adjusting the float in the mc2100 and then my Heep wouldn't start. I had to load it on a tow truck and send it to a real mechanic....I'll let you know what they come back to me with.

I got it back from the shop...they re-adjusted the float and got her running, but she still seems to be sucking air somewhere!:banghead:

Nutter is done, vac is pulling consistanly 20 in Hg, I have sprayed quick start at idle and at high rpm and can't seem to get it to bog down. The Venturi should be the 1.08 (it's the carb from the Ebay guy) and I'm not sure exactly what jets it's running.

The only funny thing I see is that fuel will spurt from under the accelerator pump on the front, but even spraying quick start there won't do anything.

I'm goning to adjust the accelerator pump to not deliver so much fuel and see it that helps...Other than that I'm lost.

Thanks for the help folks...I'll keep working on it.

I recently did a post on the same issue with mine.
4.2/nuttered/MC 2100/1.08/47 jets/11 Dbtc/if I do not have the choke opened only slightly, then it bogs bad then vroom!/The throttle response is better the more the choke is closed, even when warmed up.
Some thought accelerator pump. I'm rebuilding mine with a new kit on pay day. I'll post results!

Nuttered today and all seems to be better. Still need to double check the timing and tuck the wires to make it look clean but from the test drive there has been no drop in idle at stops or stumbling of any kind! Thank heaven.
