My 87 yj

I bought a yj with a 350tpi in it ran great for a month then like the flick of a switch just wouldn't stay running I took it to the shop where I work and spent an arm and a leg trying to figure it out finally gave up and took all the tpi stuff out and put a 600 Holley and eldelbrock intake on it with a mechanical fuel pump on it. My questions are does that engine normally have a lobe for the fuel pump and does it matter if the electronic fuel pump is in the tank still? And the engine is about an 88 and had a block off plate and there was tension on the fuel pump when I installed it. Well thanks for reading let me know what ya think!

Not sure about the fuel pump lobe; cant hurt to try, but that fuel pump in the tank will have to go. But if it is a low pressure pump 7lbs or so, then keep it and use it on the carb with a pressure regulator.

I imagine it is not a low pressure pump, since you say it was a tpi, so I would remove it completely and go get a filter screen.

I'll let ya know how I make out I got the tank out so it's a stock Chrysler pump no good but I'm changing it all to the right stuff so hopeflully soon it will fly! Thanks again

So got the tank in and the in line fuel pump. And it ran until the starter blew apart and pretty much screwed my flywheel so I guess what my question is what is the proper starter for the 350 with the 3inch conversion plate to the stock automatic tranny? Thanks again for any info
