Unhappy my 91 wrangling is swaying alot

I just got me a 91 jeep wrangler and its got quick disconnect sway bar links up front and newer steering box the guy I got it from said he tightened up the steering box but I'm thinking there is morero it then what is being said . I have 31's on it now but it still sways a decent bit going down the road. And 34's sways a heck of a lot more. I love the 34's on it but till I figure something out I can't use them. Cause it makes my pregnant fiance sea sick lol. Can some one plz help me. They are 34x9.50x15 TSL super swampers

How much lift?

Is your swaybar disconnected at either end?

I'd be willing to bet your front suspension is worn out from big tires and stuff.
P.O. "tightening up" the steering box right before selling it is a red flag.

Pics needed of front suspension

sway problem reply

Well its a 4" shackle lift on it. And the sway bar disconnects have removable pins at top and bottom of them. The suspension is all like new and the thing I was wonderin is y there is no coil springs under it. If u got texting on a cell I can send u photos that way it won't let me upload my photos on here if u want pm me ur number

Do you mean 4" spring lift? A 4" shackle lift would be awfully long shackles. That would be 8" from bolt to bolt and you would definately want to get some shorter shackles for better handling. Coil springs weren't added to wrangler till '97

Actually, I believe that would be 12" bolt to bolt. Ad 1" for every 1/2" lift, right?

he was talking about leave springs as you can always add more to get the lift.. But 4" shackle lift is nuts.. That's just asking for you to break down on the trail/ road

There is 7 inches from bolt to bolt. I also founone of my upper shock bolting tower broke off so I'm working on repairing it and then I'm going to tighten up the the front end steering components. And add a few more leafs to front and rear . I love the shackle lift so IMA stick with it.just do little mods to make it work.

I was experiencing same thing when I bout my yj from PO. The steering stabilizer in it was shot. Looked like could've been the original, with 32s it grabbed every line on the road And was all over. I replaced that and it tighten up the steering for the most part. I may just go with a dual steering stabilization though for added support and handle bigger tires if I ever do so.

Stock is 4 inches bolt to bolt. So that extra three inches gives the forces lots of leverage to deflect back and forth. That's why lots of guys frown on anything more than an inch extra. Love it or not, you're going to have to lose those. There are no mods to mask their bad effects.
