Question My YJ hates cold weather, anything to improve that?

hey fellow jeepers,

my 94 2.5 yj has been causing me problems at night time when the temperature drops. i have replaced spark plugs and wires.

when i crank it up, it will idle real low, if i put it in 1st and start going, the exhaust will start popping and i lose power but get bursts of power.. it's fine after driving it for 15 minutes or so, but in low rpms or when accelerating when cold, she doesn't want to be driven.

any ideas?

i'm new to the jeep and it needs a huge makeover.

Had that problem but was not on a yj. Turned out to be a fuel pressure regulator. Good luck.

For winter pre heating a circulating block heater is best and an oil pan heater does wonders. A bit of methylhydrate in the fuel tank will get rid of any water issues and running a dose of Seafoam(your auto store guy/gal will know what it is) through it cleans buildup out of the crank case, injectors and cylinders.
