Nasty BackFire Prob on '95 YJ

I just bought my 1st Jeep 10.01.12& It's been so rainy all week, not much time to....stare at it? My plan is to start with a tune up. Then go on from there. I hope I don't have to dig into the engine too deep. What has been you guys experience with BFire? Thanx bigtime for any advice.

backfiring on fuel injection is usually a timing issue or an injector issue.......

Nailed it. You can also look for exhaust leaks but that is it.

Congrats on your find and welcome to the forum. Show her off and post a few pics.

Thanx for the help so quickly! My buds told me to have the timing checked. Now, doing an at home tuneup might correct the problem? I'll have to Google some things. Will post some pics tonight, but I need to find a free image hosting site... Thanx again!

most people on here use photobucket to upload their photos.....as for the backfiring, they're right about the timing....unless you're familiar, take it to a mechanic....

I'm not familiar so much in timing issues. I want to learn though. I think me & this Jeep will have a history together. Thanx!

Not sure how to show pic instead of displaying a link in the threads. I think I'll go to photobucket...
