Need Help

I was driving my jeep up ahill today and the ujoint blew. once the driveshaft stopped spinning i had somebody pull it out. when i tried to put the jeep in to 4wheeldrive to get off the road the jeep would just rev up and it would not go into 4wd. The jeep would go into gear fine but it would not go anywhere. Now my motor blows out thick white smoke and smells like antifreeze. I replaced the tranny just a little bit a go does any body think it could be the tranny or maybe the transfercase? Im goin to try a new driveshaft tommorrow and see if it will go any where. the old drive shaft is completly destroyed. Any advice would be great i just got done with it and now this happens it must be a jeep thing to keep going through this stuff thanks

so the driveshaft i got was too short and the wrong ujoint size so i cut my old driveshaft in half and welded the two driveshafts together the jeep will move inder its own power but the block is cracked it blows out white smoke (a hell of alot) and it smells sweet

Wow, I've never heard of cracking a block by throwing a u joint

One possibility for your drive issue could be the axle shift actuator. If it's not locking up it'll just spin.

Locking mechanism for your front is shot, and that thick white smoke is your burning antifreeze you blew your head gasket or something not cracked your block unless you can see a physical crack in it
