Need help with frame motor mounts

Hey guys I finally found a frame for my 92 YJ 4.0 HO. The only problem is the frame is a 4 cylinder frame I know I need to move my frame motor mounts I was just wondering if any of you have done this and know how much I need to move the mounts to accept the 4.0. The only thing I'm changing is the frame everything else is already 4.0.

Thanks

You should be able to use your old frame/mounts to take all the measurments for the change. You have to cut off the 4 cyl mounts and replace with 6 cyl mounts. If you can re-use the old 6 cyl try not to butcher the frame so you can double check the locations. As you stated, everything else should line up OK.

It looks like the frame mounts on the 4 and 6 cylinders are the same. I hope anyway because my old ones are very rusty. Thanks 94 YJ

the mounts from the 2.5 sit back farther on the frame, you will have to move them forward.
I considered swapping a 4.0 into my 2.5L 90 YJ and thats where my research ended.

If they are different, check Quadratrac or 4WD Hardware. I remember someone sold new mounts...I just can't remember who!

New mounts are very difficult to find. Just did a 4.0 swap on mine 2 weeks ago. They've been discontinued, and not a single place I contacted could get ahold of them.

I cut my 4cyl mounts off and moved them up the frame. One side was different, but I'm the only person that seems to have that problem.

I found a great rust free frame from florida. Bought it from a guy re-doing a 2.5 YJ and he had already POR'd it. I think im going to cut the mounts off with a thin cutting wheel to save as much metal as possible. Thanks guys its great to know the frame mounts are the same because my old ones are toast.

I got a set of 4.0 mounts from a 95 if your originals don't work out
