need help with rear end

i have a 94 4.0 5 speed trans everything stock and loven it . i believe my rear end is going out i get a grinding noise after driving for 30 minutes or so (it used to a be longer distance but slowly seemed to get worse) . I believe its the rear end because i bought the jeep with a wrong size tire (smaller) on the rear passenger side and no spare . heres some information to help, the grinding doesn’t happen when going straight only when turning .

so im planning on buying a rear end from a pick a part and swapping . any suggestions does other rear ends work? say from a Cherokee or what not .

im open for suggestions and your knowledge is greatly appreciated .
Thank you

you have a yj and this is the tj section but no big deal. sounds like your spider gears are shot. i would just replace the diff and not worry about the rest of the axle unless you are trying to put a d44 or something a little beefier back there. you can find used oped diffs cheap and its not a hard swap out.
