Need some advice

I was looking at the Firestone Destination M/T's and i like them a lot. They told me at Firestone it would be around 200 a tire but i found them at Roadway Tire for $147 a tire. My question is are the M/T's good? Does anyone have them? I just want to know how good they will do on ice or rain. and if i get them online what do you think it would cost me for someone to put it on rims and install if i need them too. Please guys i needs some advice. Thanks.

wal-mart will charge you around 30 bucks a tire to mount and balance. you could probably go to any independent tire store and have the same work done for the same amount of dough.........as far as pricing goes, i'd suggest tirerack.com to see if your pricing is good and to read their ratings as to whether or not it is good for the conditions you are looking for

Also if there is a 4wd store near you they price match and you pay no shipping. Cant beat that.

i have the mt's and love them a lot. haven't gone through a winter yet but they have done well on the wet roads and aren't too loud on the highways. I got them at national tire and battery and since there was no shipping they were very close to tirerack price. tirerack does a very good rating on them and gives you different scenarios on how the perform

Walmart does not charge 30 a tire..that's closer to all 4 mounted. The MT your looking at is a good tire and according to reviews does well in snow and ice for a mud tire. Also don't forget to add the shipping cost tot he over all price.. also if you get them local if something happens the extra cost might be worth it vs an online shop.

thanks guys, and the shipping is $107. Firestone wanted me to pay 2 something a tire so it would def be cheaper to buy online but ill still look local before anything. Also, if anyone else has them let me know how they are.

As far as Tires go, It's your choice, go with what feels right. I personally like to buy from "local" chains (which tend to be a bit more expensive) to help out the mom and pop stores. Wal-mart makes enough, help out the little guy. As far as Ice and Rain go, some tires work well, some don't-If you expect those conditions then select a tire properly suited for that work. Keep in mind that Jeeps are more or less designed for an X/C (cross country) nature by design. There is not a lot they cannot handle unless set up for that..(rock climbing...) Your jeep will treat you well. It all depends are what your looking for and what you intend to use your machine for. All the best.
