I'm having some trouble with my Dana 30. My four wheel drive actuator isn't working. My vacuum is good and it tries to move but doesn't seem to have full travel for the forks. Anyody have an idea on how to fix this without replacing the actuator?????? Any help would be appreciated........THANKS!!
I didn't see a kink in the linkage. I took off the actuator and tried it off of the jeep. the piston isn't moving in and out properly. I think its just shot. Guess I gotta get a new one. Unless somebody knows how to fix this one...........LOL!!!
XJ has a one piece axle...well at least mine does. I believe some TJs did too. All you need is one complete axle shaft from either XJ or TJ and the axle seal that goes in the diff housing.
take the actuator off, push the fork to the 4wd possition (driver side) slip a piece of tubing over the piston and keep it in place with tie straps. slide the collar to the driver side of the axle and replace actuator...your 4wd light will remain lit, while still in 2wd.
