Need some pro-advice on springs for 31.10.5s on stock

ok, heres the scoup... I want to put in new springs. Wondering what spring/shackle combination I should go with (best bang for the buck that will last). I'll only be running 31's, maybe someday upgrading to 33's. Not a lot of crawling, but a lot of general off roading, mud, two tracks, hills, etc...

Thanks a million guys! I'd rather go with the right one the first time! I have read a lot of mixed opinions throughout the Forum, just don't know my best route. There is a ton to choose from!

If it were yours, what would you do? I should have about $300-$500 to put under it.

If I could afford it I would get 2.5 Old man emu springs, small shackle lift, and if I needed more room 1" body lift to fit 33's.

big difference there between 31's and 33's.
31's you can get away with a 2.5" lift with not much drivetrain modificaion's
for 33's you will be going more with a 4" with SYE and cv rear driveshaft.
Or go with the 2.5" suspension and a 2" body lift.
For that money you I would recomend a 2.5" rough country.
There's nothing wrong with rough country suspension's for the money they are hard to beat.
If you want to spend some more $$ go with Rubicon express or Old man Emu.

Maybe I'm interpreting it differently, but are you replacing the old springs with new stock height springs? That will give you a little bit of lift in itself if the old springs are tired, which I'm sure they are after this long. I have 31X10.50's on my 94 that's stock, I'm just putting on some 1.25'' lift shackles..maybe new stock springs or an add a leaf eventually

Im looking for a good spring that may include a 1.5 or 2 inch lift, and shackles. Or, stock springs with longer shackles to obtain another couple inches of lift. Not sure of my best combination?

Figured since I need new springs, now is the time to lift 'er up a bit.

Scrambler... "31's you can get away with a 2.5" lift with not much drivetrain modificaion's" Sounds like a good route to me.

Im thinking though, if I can fit the 31's on stock, why could'nt I fit 33's on a 2.5" lift? Would'nt that give me an extra .5 compared to running stock with 31's?

on my Yj the shackle measures 8 inches dunno what a stock one measures. my springs and shocks are toast tho so It rides rougher with these and I almost got 33's under it but they rubbed a little so took them back off
