Need some wiring help

Ok my jeep has absolutly no wiring at all. I am going to just use a toggle switch and push button for now until I get the money for a harness. I am going to do the nutter bypass to make this easier to wire but I have a few questions on where some wires go I have the diagram but dont know where the red and grey wires go I know the red goes to the coil but where after that? This is the diagram I am using.

What year is your Jeep and what engine?

I just rewired an '89 4.2 and that doesn't look familiar to me as far as how mine is run right now.

My main hot runs from the battery to the starter to the starter relay then there is a wire from the relay to the coil and then the cable from the coil to the distributor.

There are a couple other wires that run from the coil directly to the fuse block that then hook into the ignition switch in the column.

I think that's mostly right since the Jeep isn't in my driveway I can't go look at it for you.

I just installed the Painless kit for mine and although it was expensive, it did install pretty easily. A word of advice, get a starter relay when you order the kit. Painless has a part number for one but I couldn't find it on their site anywhere so it may be discontinued. I ordered this one: 1988 JEEP CHEROKEE PIONEER Starter Relay) because I think it's the right part but it's not here yet so I don't know for sure. My relay was bad and I had a heck of time finding any info on getting a new one.

As far as getting you up and running, I'm afraid I'm not much help with your current situation.

Good luck to you!

The Painless kit automatically bypasses all the computer wiring so with the new harness, the computer can't be connected unless you really really want to. I didn't so my computer is in the junk pile.

id say just wait till u get the kit and go that way unless u feel confident in ur patience or ur like me and broke
then i would look in the nearest junk yard for a old fuse block and try and to get it back to stock and move from their but that's just me
