Angry Needing a Dana 35 Rear Axle geared in 4.10. Why so hard to find??

I bought my first jeep a YJ in good shape needing a rear differential. I paid 2K for it, I figure I would get a differential for 3-400 bucks ..pop it in and be done..Its turned into an adventure! Can I substitute for a 3.73, as those are abundant, or will the m,is-match screw the gears up?

Front and rear gears must match. I'm about to do an 8.8 swap into my 94 though. If you are near MD PA I'll make you a good deal on a 35 with 4.10 gears in couple weeks 😃

It took me nearly a year before I found a good deal on 4.10 axles. I eventually paid 200 for both, but I can only use the guts from the front axle. I need to get an install kit. Rear is on and what a big difference it was. I just can't put it in 4wd until I match the gears. Bottom line is watch Craigslist like a hawk. You'll find it.

I've got one for you. But its in Iowa.. you will have much better luck finding a 4.10 8.8 ford or chrysler 8.25 from a cherokee. Both will need welding/fabbing tho

$1500 for a "mild wheeler" axle, whereas you can build an 8.8 infinitely more stronger than that for less......

Where you at? I ripped mine and bought a new one on Craig's for $150. Regeared for a hundo. Slapped it in. Good to go.

I got one for $209 but I am a long way out of town. So take a road trip and vacation in Vegas and pick a diff with 4:10s.
