I bought a reman ax15 from high gear for my wife's jeep (highly recommend)....and broke one of the bolts off that mounts shifter. 3/4 plus rtv should hold, but didn't have the heart to redrop it. I didn't tell my wife, but had to get it off my conscience. Thanks for listening!

I can't imagine how the rear end is pointing straight up.

Please post a couple pics.

Thanks & Good Luck, L.M.

The ole jeep pole vault trick. This is simply speculation, and puzzle piecing based on what the neighbor said. He heard a lot of engine revving noise, tires chirping, loud bang. Based on damage, there was some foward momentum, the driveshaft broke, hung down, and when it contacted the ground it pushed the pinion to angle upwards. When the teenager called he said "hey the Jeep came out of gear and rolled into the street, I pushed it back into the driveway" which already sounded super suspicious. When I got there, I knew that there is no way for the pinion to be facing straight up like that from it "rolling backwards", about that time the neighbor came by and filled us in with his portion.

Talk to the little terrorists dad. If dad won't do anything call the cops. Dad should have homeowners insurance that will cover the repairs to the Jeep.

When I was a kid I pulled some real humdingers. When I got caught I was held accountable. It made a better man out of me. There is no reason that you should suffer the cost of repairs because of someones attempt to steal your Jeep.

Post a pic of that pinion. Did the pumpkin turn on the axle tubes or did the springs or spring perches break?

Good Luck, L.M.
