new clutch and slave install

Well i have all new parts on the flywheel and the slave on the tranny. Im putting the trans back in and it seems that the last 1/2 inch is a b@+ch. Do i have to turn the flywheel a bit so the shaft goes all the way in or does anybody have an easier way???. Im open to all ideas and solutions. Please help i need my baby back on the trails again.

Yeah you have to have the angles very close and usually rolling the trans a little will get it. When it happens it will slam against the bellhop using.

Make sure the tranny is in gear, slide in the rear driveshaft and rotate or jiggle it side to side while pushing the tranny toward the engine and it will click into position, you won't be able to turn the shaft anymore. Just did this myself a few weeks ago... fought for far too long trying to line it up... turning the internals on the transmission lined up the splines.
