new guy needs a lesson on axels

I'm getting an 89 yj wrangler with no axels. i like the look where the tires stick out a little from the flares. could some one tell me whether that look is accomplished by a wider axel or with wheels and tires. whichever, what is a good axel to look for or a good wheel and tire combo. thanks

to get them to stick out more is all about the wheel backspacing..bigger the number the less they'll stick out, 3.75"-4" will stick them out and inch or two..and ofcoarse bigger and wider tires will as well...ill let someone else chime in about the axles im not a yj guy

How much do you want them to stick out? a couple inches? or more? if you are just looking for a couple inches (haha) wheel spacers, or wheels with less backspacing will be your best bet...if you want a super wide stance, you will have to start looking at full width axles.
