New Lift, new noise.....

After my lift was installed, I noticed and thunking noise in the rear every time I would go over speed bumps quickly. it sounded like something was slamming into the tub or something.

Anyway, I poked around and didn't see anything this first time.

Put it out of my mind for a while until today when I was checking the torque specs of the lift components and body lift........

It appears as thought both sides of both rear shackles are slamming into the frame. These are new shackles installed with the lift. What causes this? As I understand it, boomerang shackles are the remedy for this but can I fix it without buying new shackles?

you could cut the center cross piece out but that can't be the right part..the shackle has to be able to move a lot more than that as the leaf spring flattens out..those may be front shackles

Can anyone else confirm that these may be incorrect shackles? And anyone got any good recommendations for greasable boomerang shackles?

Yea they dont look right, cause those belong up front. Looks like you got stock size so either cut the brace or fine a pair of stock ones

You can look on Ebay and find a full set (4) greasable shackles for $59.00 + shipping. Can't remember the brand, but they are good quality.

I assume these are what you're talking about. Sweet deal. I don't know how to tell if they'll work with my Rough Country lift. Are they pretty universal?
