New lift, now I have a shimmy

So, I put a lift on my Jeep today. It was a Skyjacker 2.5" but it ended up giving me about 4" of lift because my old springs were really flat. The problem is now I have a shimmy from 35 to 55 mph. I think the driveshaft is something that was replaced and it looks short as the yoke doesn't go into the TC as far as it seems it should. My question is this...would adding shims to my rear to twist the rear diff to decrease the angle help with the shimmy? Also, can someone measure their rear driveshaft from center cup to center cup and tell me what your's measures. I am going to go tomorrow and try to get a new shaft. Thanks in advance.

very doubtful you got driveline issues with only 2.5" lift.

Well the 2.5" lift gave me 4". It is definately driveline issues. I am thinking of putting in a TC lowering kit.

How did you manage to get 4" of lift with a 2.5" kit? More than likely you pinion angle is low. If you do the tranny drop that should take care of the vibes. But if you have actually lifted it 4" then your looking at more than just a tranny drop. You may need to install and SYE and new CV DS. Anyway, do a search for "Pinion Angle". That should give a bunch of info without having us repost what has already been posted.

I understand that, but shouldn't and do are two different things. It is a driveline prob. I put the tc drop in this morning and that took care of most of the shimmy. I am going to put 4 degree shims in this weekend and that should fix it all.

the springs will be a little tall at first till they break in. but i had a set of tuff country 2.5" springs i did on a soa, and they were absolutely packaged wrong or something, they were definately 4" springs. and they did not settle. the part numbers said 2.5 but it was not.

maybe you got some wrong springs. just a possibility, its happened to me and made me furious. i'll never use tuff country again.

No I think that I just had really bad springs before and these gave me about 1.5" back and 2.5" of new lift.
