So this is a "pretend" jeep cuz it looks big and tough but it also has lots of chrome and... its my wife's. Anyway, she wanted a big fun toy and I get to mess with it while my gas tank is being replaced in my 4runner. She has two problems. First, I need to figure out the 4wd light always being on and second she has a 2" body and 4" suspension lift on this vehicle and it need shocks.

I found the thread about stepping through the vacuum hoses and the eventual switch in order to make sure your system is working, so other than having no pics of what I'm looking for/at, I think I will be able to hack my way through that. If someone has some pictures of the different hose paths/switch location, that would be great.

As for the shocks... I don't think the body lift impacts the ride of the shock but wanted to make sure before I bought them. quadratec's little shock tool/calculator works fine if I know whether to use 4" or 6" when buying the shocks.

Thanks for the info.

I believe it is only the suspension lift that matters.

for the 4wd, start at the front axle disconnect, mounted on the back of the passenger side, there is also a switch on the transfer case

for the shocks, only the suspension lift matters
the upper mounts are on the frame, not the body
