New YJ owner

I am new to the Jeep world. I recently bought a 1995 Jeep YJ. It came completely stock. Shortly after I got it, I put a 4" Rough Country lift and 33" BFG tires with Crager Soft 8 wheels on it. I also added Rough Country quick disconnects. There are many more things I want to do but not sure what I should do. Looking for ideas and advise. The jeep will be used as a daily driver Mon-Fri and as a play toy on the weekend. One big thing that I am wanting advice on is lockers. Been thinking about adding lockers but not sure what to get. Didn't know weather E-lockers would be ok to use or if I needed air lockers? I want to make a great trail rig out of this jeep but still be able to drive it back and forth to work. Thanks for all ideas and advice. The jeep is V6, 4.0L with 65k miles, auto tranny.

if you want something to rip up on the weekend then you might want to get something else as a daily driver or you will eventually be walking to work on monday morning...4.0 is a straight 6,not a v6

Sounds line a lot of good ideas but great trail rig and DD are not the same.

You can take a well maintained YJ and some really good wheeling with your current setup. If you add lockers with 33s you will eventually break the stock rear. You will also be looking to do a lot if other mods to make it a great trail rig.

In stock form with your setup I wheeled mine for a year after a lot of work and new parts without an issue and always drive it home never broke anything on the trail. It does some amazing things and goes most anywhere.

I am old and slow and so is the YJ and we get along great. But with the 33s it was to slow to get to the trails and the brakes and steering sucked. So this summer re-gear to 4:88s, Ford 8.8, brake system upgrade and steering upgrade with lockers front and rear. New driveshafts because if the lockers

Lots of money and I still have two good weeks of work to get back on the road.

Wheel what you got see how wild you want to go and then read, read and read some more here. You will find all the info you need to keep it driving and may eventually get what you want out if your YJ.

Most of all go out and enjoy the ride.
89 2.5 TBI, 4" RC lift, 1" Booms, SYE, Adams Driveshafts front and rear, Ford 8.8 with 4:88s, BFG 33X12.50X15, and a ton of other stuff.

My YJ is my DD and my trail rig, however I know this going in, mild wheeling for me only right now, until I decide to buy something a little more civilized for the street. Harley is right, breaking something on the trail is inevitable.
