newb to jeeps 4x4

i just bought a 1989 jeep wrangler yj iam new to jeeps so i want to know can it be shifted in to 4x4 high while jeep is in motion if so at what speed it has a 5 speed manuel transmisson any replys will be helpful

I shift mine on the fly with no issues. I have never done it going any faster than 35 or so, but I believe you can up to 55 in 4hi. 4lo is a different story though.

Just remember, if you rear tires are spinning, it is not a good idea to pull it into 4wd till the rear slows down to the same speed as the front. I.E. don't wait till you are stuck and spinning your rear tires and front tires are stopped before you shift into 4wd.
