newbee, odometer and knocking, help

I Got my 1991 YJ about two months ago and I'm obsessed with it... But anyway, its been damn cold in Chicago, and I normally I change my own oil, but I brought it in.... Anyway, the guy there says because its a 1991 the Odometer must actually mean 213,000 instead of 113,000 miles, the "1" must not have changed over to a "2", is that possible? I don't think he knows a thing about it, but what do you guys think, cuz now I'm freakin' out..

Next, when I start up my engine i get about 2 seconds of high RPM' and knocking from the engine, is this something to worry about, or just keep on keepin on? It's an automatic 4.0 6cyl, and its in mint condition regarding rust.

I think the guys is wrong. It's very unlikely that your rig has turned 200k and not ticked the odometer over, given that it's ticking away at the normal daily miles. I've got an '02 with 28k miles, so low mileage is an impossible thing. By my calculations by the time my rig is as old as yours is currently, I'll be in the range of 72k miles.

Anyone have any insight on that knocking? what it is? how much it might cost to repair? and is it even a big deal?
