no clue about gearing

I'm 17 and unemployed so i cant afford an expensive fix, I was essentially given my jeep yj from my moms friend, but i'm thankful for it. Anyway, I think it is geared really low, I'm in 3rd gear and sometimes even 4th at around 60km/h (37.3 mp/h), It has 27 inch tires, god only knows why so small, but is there any way to change the gearing easily or cheaply, or possibly investing in bigger tires might change the ratio? I'm not sure, or should i just drive it at Low rpm in a higher gear to save gas. 1992, jeep yj 4.0, all stock. Thanks!

All stock is a Great set up for some one on low or no income, I think you should leave the gears like they are, in time when you get a job, and by the way, "Get A Job" [you'll feel better about your self!], go to larger tires, the 27" is most likely stock size, it is on my 90 I6 auto. 215x75-15 you can put 29" or 30" on later with stock gears and still get good mpg.

cheapest way to regear if you can't set up yourself. find a junkyard jeep with 4.10. pull the whole axle assy. out here fronts are $300 rear is $200.
