No spark

I have a 1988 Jeep Wrangler that will not spark. I have replaced distributor, distributor cap, ignition coil, and the ignition module. I have run out of ideas. Somebody throw me a bone!!!

Have you checked that you're actually getting power to all those?

Stick a multimeter/circuit tester at the connection to the distributor. If you have power there, you should get spark.

If not, recheck all the connections, fuse box and the main ignition switch on the lower back of steering column. Could be a broken wire, too....basically, you're going to have to chase the current from it's source and find where it's not getting thru.

I haven't heard of the distributor pick ups going bad often, but that's a remote possibility, too.

It by-passes to computer in some states it may not pass inspection, unless you hide your work well.
It's a long explanation, you can Google jeep YJ nutter by-pass, hope this helps.

Has no one else had this same problem? Could it possibly be in the steering column. I really hope not but a friend suggested that. The engine turns over I'm getting fuel I just need some fire.

Please check the ground from the engine, if it is not complete all kinds of crap will happen. Buy a battery line that will take you to the fire wall, use a wire brush to clean off the paint and intall the line. If this does not help, God help you. lol.

Talking

I thought I had replaced the ignition module but it was actually I think the voltage regulator fo the coil. So I found the actual ignition module that was under the coolant tank. Replaced it and succes, now I just need to figure out how to adjust the carb.
