now power up hills with a 6 cyl?

i just put in a motorcraft 2150 in my 1990 6 cylinder wrangler and it runs great! my miles per gallon have shot up and with 100k on the engine i couldnt be any happier! but driving up to school i noticed that it slows noticeably when going up hills! I fall behind traffic and sometimes slow to 50mph, is this normal or is something with the new carb doing this? also the exhaust system was recently replaced as well. new gaskets on the engine and new clutch.

That usually happens with a clogged cat. Was the whole system replaced or just the muffler and pipes.

Mine is the same way but that's my gearing. I've got 3.07s with 33/12.50/15. My jeep hardly gets out of its own way most of the time

mine should be running perfectly. i have stock axles/gears, stock size wheels/tires. everything is how it should be for a normal street jeep. just i have not had any luck with a single motorcraft carb i have tried. this one is ok but the lack of power kills me. the plugs are perfectly colored, no vacuum leaks, no exhaust leaks, i do have to verify my float level is right though

Downshift and keep the RPM's in the 2500-3000 range.
