Nutter Bypass Woes

well started the bypass today.
followed the orange and purple wires to the firewall. spliced the orange wire with the other orange wire comming out of the firewall. picked up that purple wire coming from the connector.
turned the key and nothing. pulled the spark plug and cranked over, no spark.
my question is, does anyone have pics of what orange wire they connected to. and a pic of the plug they picked up the purple wire from, and where is this ignition control module? will i have to run new wires from that just to make things go more smothly. what a waste of 5 hours.
also, my distributor wires didnt go into the firewall where it said on the instructions that are floating around on the net.

thanks all

andy

nut butter

Say bro-- on my 90 yj I6 258 the two wires in question. Went into the big loom on the firewall and went thru the FW in the middle. Its easy to mistake the correct wires cause the tight wrap of other wires in the loom. Good luck brother.

ady, i have that printed out and in color. but it says follow the wires to the firewall between the battery and valve cover. no wires to firewall in that area. so i assume its on the other side.(looking from front, its on the right of the valve cover.)
bluegrass, i spliced into the only solid orange wire that came from above said wiring harnes from firewall. maybe its the purple one i messed up. where is this ignition module connector? is it to the left or right side of firewall? i taped into one from the right side(lookin into the engine bay from front).
Pics would be real nice.
anyone in the panhandle of florida? 2 cases of beer are waiting for anyone wanting to show me this so called easy mod. lol
(man i feel so dumb. i work on $32m planes but cant fix a 4grand jeep)

thanks all

andy

Got it

dont know how i picked up the wrong wire for the purple one. but after a cooling off period, i went back and followed it out of the plug from the ignition module. (its green with black strip).
my timming was like 24 degrees BTDC, took it down to 8, and it would not even idle. got it set at around 13-14. runs awsome.

cant wait to do the HEI and weber mods next.
