Oil in the air filter

The air filter box and air filter on my 92 Wrangler 4 cylinder are saturated with oil, anybody have any idea on what is causing this?

You check the PCV valve to see if it is working right?

Thanks JK'N. Looked for my PCV valve, where I thought it should be (top of the valve cover toward the back) there is just a 90 with nothing in it, connected to a hose that goes to the air filter box. Am i looking in the right place?

It doesn't have a pcv valve, it uses a ccv system. Instead of a valve, the grommet for the tube that goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold has an orifice in it. Pop out the elbow at the back of the valve cover and clean out the little hole in the grommet with a paper clip or small screwdriver.

Also check the orifice at the intake manifold that is connected to the line at the front of the valve cover.

Thanks Tyewilly, I looked where you suggested and sure enough, the hole was plugged. It will be late this afternoon before I can road test it. I'll let you know how it turns out. Once again, appreciate the help.

Hehe, tells you how long it has been since this problem has happened to me. Same issue, different name and functioning type solution. Nice, and thanks for the update.
