oil pans vs rocks ideas?

I have dented and straightened my oil pan one too many times. Now I have a small leak from a split in the metal and the seal at the drain plug is busted. Is there a product that somebody has found to protect the pan or have you fabricated something that works? Not catching the front, just the flat bottom portion of the pan.

They make a skid plate for the tj oil pan. I have never found an oil pan skid plate for a yj. So I guess the only solution is more lift!

Stop climbing over the same rock??

Either that or get yourself some 1/2" steel to make a shield.

Quadratec has skidplates for both 2.5 and 4.0L engines as well.

Unless they migrate they are not the same rock
I was hoping somebody has purchased and tested a skid plate to get some feedback. My exhaust was custom routed years ago to get it out of harms way so I would stop crushing that. Not really an easy way to attach a shield.

You'd be crazy to pass up this deal.

TeraFlex TJ 4.0 Oil Pan Skid Plates $24.99 !!

And yes, they do work on YJ's. It's on my rig and didn't modify a thing to make it fit.

It would take an absolute freak hit to get to the plug. The design makes it look open, but once you see it installed you'll see there's pretty much no chance of it ever being touched.

I take that back then. I was looking a couple months ago and all I ever seen is tj stuff. Thanks for helping me with this stuff too.

I'm reminded of an old saying
If the glass hits the rock or the rock hits the glass...it aint gonna hurt the rock.

Thanks for the link. Ordered the Teraflex one (fits my current budget better) If anyone has experience with the Skid Row plate holding up to alot of abuse please post up. Might consider that model later.
