Oil pressure

My oil pressure gauge stays around the 60 mark a lot, sometimes it's at 80 aswell. Then other times its at 40 where it should be. Thoughts anyone?

Is this indicated pressure or actual pressure? The gauge is notorious for not being reliable. You can get an actual pressure reading with special tooling.

Are you noticing any performance differences with the "surge" of pressure?

The oil pressure is going to fluctuate. When you first start it, it will be around the 80#. After its been running for a bit, while cruising, it will be around 60 and at idol around 40. Usually lower. These are the readings i get from my gauge. GL.
