Oil pressure

Just bought a 93 with a 2.5Has 93k on it.
My question is the oil pressure is between 40-50 psi idling and runs 60 psi while driving......seems high to me but I'm not sure.
Thanks.

It's normal for idling. I have a 95 2.5L with 91k and mine does the same at idle. Bu running it never goes that high. Might want to give it an oil change and go from there.

Wait til you swamp it and the motor fills up with water. Your oil pressure will come right down...lol.

Ive never been around the 4 bangers but the 4.0s vary widely. I just dont worry about it unless they start getting down to 20 or lower. Mine isnt a dd though so if it dies it dont matter much except I dont get to wheel til I fix it...

Thanks.......oil was fresh when I bought it but i'll change it anyway.Seems to run fine so I'm not stressing over it.
Havent had a 2.5 since my 1985 cherokee chief so I was curious.Only paid $1200 for it so I didnt get hurt on it either way. Its used mostly on a 500 acre farm and I plan to use it as an oversand vehicle instead of my excursion.

I wouldn't be concerned. If it's otherwise running fine there shouldn't be a problem. The oil pressure sending units are not that accurate most of the time. If you really want to know the true pressure temporarily install a mechanical gauge.
