Oil Pressure Gauge - Jumping around

Hey all -

Okay, so I now have a working clock, a working volt meter and a working temp gauge

My next issue is the oil pressure gauge. When I start the Jeep, half the time the pressure gauge seems to be okay. But, the other times it pins all the way to the right. Sometimes it will come back down from there, other times it won't.

Is there a way to test the Oil Pressure Sending Unit? If not, then should I just go ahead and replace that?

Thanks for any/all help...

Have you cleaned up the connections on the board behind it? That fixed my oil pressure gauge

Yeah, I completely cleaned the cluster board, so I am going to replace the unit and see what that does.

I'll let y'all know

There is a small detail in this thread involving a trick using plastic eating utensils (forks).
Guages not working

I checked with Advance Auto Parts and the oil pressure sender unit is $ 34.00. I read in my Haynes manual that you can take out the sender unit and connect a hand held gauge into the port and see exactly what the pressure is. That would be good for me, since then I would know if the gauge is working or not. The gauge currently reads 20-25 as I drive around normally.

What gauge can I use to connect it directly to the oil pressure sender port?

Thanks - - - -
