oil pressure question

Does about 25 psi at idle sound about normal to anyone?

Yes, but the gauges are not that accurate. If there are no other issues you're fine.

I believe ( and someone correct me if im wrong) if you dont have enough p.s.i. you will start to hear knocking on the engine.

Yes you will hear knocking, if the main bearing are shot and that's why you have low oil pressure, if it is the start of a bad pump or bad cam bearings or a plugged oil filter you will hear the lifters rattle first and if you don't do something to fix it you will soon have bad main bearing, THE GOOD NEW IS 25 IS FINE.

Oh, and from all I've been told or learned you need 20pis min., then 10 more psi per 1,000 rpms.

i am good hten. mine puts out some monster pressure, or my gauge is horribly off. i have 40 when warm at idle and just under 70 at highway rpm

I just put in an aftermarket gauge so that's what it was reading
