Exclamation Oil Problem bad! 1988 sahara 4.2 manual

Please Please help me out... so I bought my first wrangler, Love it love it! Well I did a tune up on her and rebuilt the carb, and intake manifold was cracked so i replaced that to! decided to take her out for a spin well I stopped at a light and could smell burning and saw the smoke from the exhaust so i pulled into a parking lot, by the time i took the keys out of the ignition i looked under and there was like 1,000 drops of oil... my transfer case under carage are completly coverd in oil.. Looks like it is coming from back of oil pan? like in between the pan and tranny... My clutch isnt slipping so im thinking not rear seal... Maybe oil pan gasket? Cecked around the block too.. its dry as can be.. Any help? and if you have an idea can you talk me through it? im in the miltary and its my only vehicle... i can turn wrenches pretty good if I can figure out the prob.. Thanks alot for reading..

pull the pan gasket and replace the rear main seal and pan gasket at the same time. easy enough since your there. then it will fix a known problem leak area to rule out of the guessing

I had the same issue. Once I replaced my rear main and my oil pan gasket it went away.
