Cool Overheating

I just purchased a 1987 yj, it was having some overheating issues, but I figured it would be a minor issues, so I purchased it. I have since changed the radiator do to some sediment & the water pump & 2 thermostats later I'm still experiencing overheating from the jeep. I'm not real keen on mechanics of a jeep, so any help would be very handy!!

is the engine actually showing signs of overheating or is the temp gauge just reading high?

It's the 258, it had just been rebuilt when I purchased the jeep. The gauge is showing it, there is no fan shroud.. Could that make it run hotter as well?

Check the temperature of the coolant while running....see if it is same as gauge. Could just be a faulty sensor or gauge.

Could ALSO be clogged coolant passages in block, since you have changed all else.

Had 75CJ5, 89YJ, 93YJ. Have 82CJ7 & 95YJ____Not one burnt yet due to lack of relays.
