Question Painted stock alloys?

Just wondering if anyone has painted their stock alloys ....I was wondering also if they should be sandblasted or if powder coating would be expensive? I want to rattle can them but want it to stick. I know the steel ones are only about 50-60 bucks but I thought it would be different? Also does anyone know the offset on the stock wheels?

If they are properly cleaned and prepped and you use a quality paint, you'll have no issues. I have done several sets of wheels over the years and never had any peal.

Clean, clean, clean, then clean some more. Then Prep, prep, prep!

FYI: If this "car" you refer to is your Jeep... It is NOT a car, it is better, it's a JEEP! Always refer to it as such.

I know some people that use the black spray rubber to coat their wheels. It looks kinda cool and is durable. It also peels off if you want to remove it someday. Its called Plasti Dip I think. Good luck though with your wheels.

I used black "fusion" paint from walmart...had it on for over 4 months now and no peeling. The only prep work I did was use fine steel wool to scuff the rim and between coats. Everyone thinks I bought those black

Apparently the fusion paint supposed to stick to anything without any prepping. However, your local auto store should carry the duplicolor rim paint, this supposed to work very well.

I bought a set of steel TJ stock rims and painted them black. I didn't like them, so I did a light sanding on my stock alloys and hit them with some spray on bedliner, same stuff I used on my floor. I think they look great and are durable.

no problems balancing, I got the guy at the tire shop to set up the machine so the weights were all to the inside...smooth as glass no wobble and no weights on the bedlined outside.
