I have a 1990 Wrangler, I6 258 and I live in California so it has a million vacuum lines on it
!!! Anywho...I am getting oil leaking out of the oil filler cap on the valve cover. I've removed the PCV solenoid (since it was supposed to be removed in 1994 as per a vehicle recall) and I've replaced the PCV valve. According to my Chilton's manual, if I take off the PCV valve and put my finger over it, should be good suction and there is. Next step says to remove crank case intake air cleaner and cover the opening in the rocker cover with a stiff piece of paper and it should be sucked down with considerable force. This is not happening, in fact the opposite is happening and oil is getting in my breather assembly. Then it tells me to remove the carburetor and run a hand drill through the passages to dislodge any debris. I did this and after putting it all back together, still does the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions?? I also noticed when I had the carb off, down in the intake manifold there is a round piece of metal with a bunch of little pieces of metal sticking up off of it (can't think of any other way to describe it...accept maybe a steel porcupine?? LOL). Anyway, about six or seven of those little metal rods have broken off and are nowhere in sight. Any help on that one?? Thanks!!
