performance chip

just lookin on ebay and found the performance chip

Jeep Wrangler 1995,1996,1997,1998,1999 Performance Chip:eBay Motors (item 380146516233 end time Aug-12-09 21:31:01 PDT)

is this anything worth trying or is he full of sh*t?

Just click on the seller link on the epay page and watch the "latest feedback" roll by for a minute.

I think you'll have your answer (at least about this guys "rep" on ebay).

i googled white lightnin performance chip. one guy says it is a .20 resister in a fancy box. take a look for yourself. especially when dealing with someone on ebay that is in a foreign country.

hell, why not make your own? get a potentiometer 0-250 ohms and intall inline with coolant temp sensor? 0 will be stock and 250 ohms will run rich like cold start with fear of damageing anything.
and you can mount in dash and just adjust dial whenever you want

Not to thread jack but how about the JET performance chip for the 6 cyl. Has anyone used it? Is it worth it does it actually make a difference?

I have a Jet chip. Works for certain things. First, you need to be in the power band (above 3k rpm) and have your foot on the firewall. So for me, getting on the freeway, running washes and hitting the dunes etc, it's nice to have.

If someone stole it, I don't think I'd bother spending the money to replace it. Money could be better spent on other things.
