So today I went and did some offroading by my house and ibjyst climbed some hills and got stuck in sand and got pulled out, so I was at the gas station and I messed around and popped the clutch to make my back wheels chriped and then I heard pops by my trans where my shifters are, when I drive its shifts fine and drives fine but it feels like something is hitting my floor boards on the driver side and my 4wd shifter vibrates really hard. I pulled dover and looked under and it looks like the outside of the 4wd shifter assembly is hitting the floorboard and causing it to make a clunking/ popping sound but I'm not forsure, what is causing it to do that ? It happened once I popped the clutch! Help please !! Thanks
My tcase shifter vibrates some in my YJ. I also got a knocking sound after my torque arm stud pulled through the skidplate. It wet away when I fixed it.
im gonna guess torque arm stud as well. go to 4 wheel parts while they are still open. if you have a large floor jack you can have the skid plate dropped in 30 min with some one helping you. check everything out before you call it internal.
