New to the forum I have a 87 YJ 4.2, ba10 trans. master cylinder went bad, shortly after I once again lost clutch pedal. I figured slave cylinder, so I got a clutch kit, and new line from master cylinder to bellhousing. kit came w/ everything else except the short lines that go from cylinder to outside bellhousing. tryed 2 reuse, but could get no pedal. 2 get the short lines i had 2 order another slave. installed w/ still no pedal. got another master. still no pedal. when i bleed i use hand pump and run about 1 qt of fluid through it. what could possibly be wrong????
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Having same problem maybe can help though

I to put a new clutch kit in my 90 wrangler. Was having troubles getting the clutch to stay bled. Ended up having to remove the trans again and found out that where the lines go into the slave must have two o-rings on the bottom side of the flange. Hope that might help.

You might want to double check that your o-rings stayed in place. Not sure if you missunderstood what I ment about where they go but there needs to be two on each line. Not a total of two. On each line they both go below the flang, On the slave side of the flange. Ever since I have done this and then bled the clutch it works great.

The orings are there. it is staying bled. the cylinder is working just acts like it is a little short on the stroke end of it. I didnt have flywheel turned (looked good clutch wasnt bad just slave) so apparently disk is just binding a bit on the splines. that is all anyone can figure out. thankyou for the reply.

got it put back together again!!!!! problem now resolved.:punk: the problem was that the clutch disk that came in my clutch kit from autozone was the wrong one. i now know to never buy my clutches there ever again. disk was right diamiter, but therivts on the inner part of it were against flywheel. and no it wasn't in backwards. the inset part of flywheel measured 5.5", and the disk needed 5.75".

i am so happy that i can drive my toy again!!!!!!!
