Power steering "Notchy" '95 YJ 4cyl

I had a bit of "notchiness" in my steering, figured it was the pump, just replaced that jacked it up an run the steering from side to side as dierected. It's much worse now than it was. Before it had a slight catch in one place now it's with each rotation of the steering wheel.

with out jeep running, try to turn the steering shaft by hand. grab it just above the gearbox. if you have excess play it can be adjusted out. adjustment screw is on top of the gearbox. google "jeep wrangler steering gearbox adjustment". step by step proceedures can be found there.
