send me the money instead...I'll buy a new Yankees hat.
that chip is less of a waste of money.
seriously though, i had a jet stage 1 performance chip in my tj. i don't think it got better gas mileage, but it did have a little quicker acceleration, but all in all, it did not do enough for me to notice. i got rid of it a few months ago. this one that you are looking at is a load of crap, if it can achieve that much hp and mpg, why doesn't jeep use the technology right off of the assembly line?
is this like taking parts form a 4 liter and putting it on my engine?
i know some parts are enterchangable . . like i once had a chevy convertable 2.2l engine, but i put a 3.6l air intake on it . . . shit tun more hp, before i sold it i was told that corvette fuel injectors would have also fit on it
i was wondering if the 2.8l and the 4.0l had interchangable parts like that . .
well I am unsure of specifics as far as what years work with what...but If you have MPI you can take any 4.0L MPI throttle body from a wrangler or a parokeet (cherokee) and install in place of the 2.5L throttle body. You have to swap over the throttle sensor and idle air control...it's pretty straight forward. If you're careful you can take a die grinder or a dremel and "bore" out the intake manifold to make it the same diameter as the new throttle body. I am happy that I did this. You can definitely tell the difference. my gas mileage is uneffected...I burn 85.5 octane and get 20+. here is a good write up...
