Question about 4.0 Throttle body for 2.5

to get right to the point i want more oomf outta my 2.5 YJ (as does everyone else) and have been reading alot about the throttle body swap. my question is, can i put the 4.0 throttle body spacer on my stock throttle body or do i need to install the 4.0 throttle body then put on the spacer. this is all assuming my assumptions on this system is correct. eventually i would like to do both but for now would just like to go the cheaper route. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Swap the TB first. You will notice the gain there. IMO the TB spacers are nothing more than expensive paperweights.

Yes tb spacers are a waste of time and money really no gain. The larger TB does make a difference. I Machined out a 4.0 one with a Carbide deburring tool to make it flow even better.
Does not help Fuel mileage though, But you probably knew that.

I got a tb and spacer for mine. Put on the throttle body and the spacer is still in the tool box drawer in the garage.
