Rampage vs. Softopper (frameless tops) Help!

Heres my situation..

I have a 1994 YJ, I sold the Hard top and soft tops.

I have full steel doors

I use this jeep mostly in summer - doors off / top off driving. In the winter I use it to plow my driveway, thats about it.

None the less I never have a top on in the summer, I dont like the idea of not having one if I get stuck in rain or a super hot day w/ the kids.

I know I want framless - but what one looks better when its NOT on? (is there hardware I have to leave mounted?)

Anyone have pro's / cons of either of these tops??

Softoppper all the way Made in the USA and is very well made .comes with all hardware ,easy on and off. All panels can stow away above your head .If you do need to run half doors get a set of TJ upper sliders and your in.

If you have gull doors, Softopper is your better bet. The only hardware you will see with the top completely off is the door surrounds

Yes it does. It has a removable gear loft over the front seats. It hangs down pretty low though...I am 5'6" and it barely clears my head.

I love it! My Jeep only had a hard top when I bought it. The Softopper comes with everything you need to install it. It is a very high quality top, made in the US. I have had no issues with leaking or overall build quality and I've had it through rain, hail, and snow.

If you don't have full steel doors, I would recommend a different top, however. The soft uppers on half doors would need to have rounded corners, and even then the seal isn't the best.

The tinted windows are worth it.

Yes, I ordered directly from the website. Fast delivery too (but I am in Colorado, where they are based).

Hey Nas! I knew there was someone here that was successfully running your set up. You and I talked before I ordered my Softopper. I knew you had the sliders and were able to get a decent seal, but I was speaking in regards to the plastic window soft uppers. I was never able to get mine to seal right, so I just use my full doors.

Ya I've never had a set of plastic uppers to try but I'm sure with a lot of tweaking you could prob get them to seal ok. I've also fixed the saggy look on my top, I had another thread started for it. But can't put the link for it on here the app on my phone doesn't have that option.

I've got the Softoper. It's awesome. Good constituting and no leaks. My soft doors are cj lowers and tj upper skins on the cj frames. The seal is not the best but with a little twisting of the doors I can get it good enough to not leak during heavy rain. My full steel doors fit like a champ. Another plus to the Softoper is you can buy all the pieces individually. GL
