random sparking

Hello everybody, i have an electrical problem. The car starts (most of the time) but after a while it stalls. When i leave the ignition on i can hear random electric discharge in the distributor cap. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this???

I'd change the cap and wires

Carbon tracing or something like that. Time for a rotor cap and wires.

So you can hear sparking when the engine is not running but with the ignition on???You have a serious issue in your distributor then....

He is from 1989. Yes i hear sparking when the engine is off and the contact is on. Seems to me that has nothing to do with the distributor, -cap or wires. They function. Problem is getting electrical pulses, but from where? And how to fix that?

That is really strange. You can't locate the sound? Try it at night, maybe you can see something arching. Only thing I can think of is the coil is discharging for some reason
