re-attaching wiper linkage

My new frame is all painted and ready to go. But how the heck do i re-attach the linkage??

I gave it a tap with a hammer.. no luck. How do you pop the ball joints back in? There isnt enough room to fit some vice grips in there even if i had a big enough pair to get on both ends of the linkage.

You need to use channel locks to snap the ball joints back in. They are a pita that is for sure. Also put a dab of grease on the ball before you assemble.

It does not hurt to have them fastened. I found it easier to have them fastened.
